If a player exceeds 21 he loses and the dealer takes and cashes his bet. Once all players have made up their minds, it is the dealer’s turn, who following the “dealer rule” must have cards with a score below 17. If he gets or exceeds 17 he has to stop, but if he goes over 21, the dealer has to pay all the bets left on the table.

Blackjack sees the dealer compare his or her score with the other players left in the game, pay out combinations higher than his or her own and withdraw those lower.
