There can be different themes for this mystery game, for example, horror or adventure. There are other options as well such as those interested in movies, books, or legends. If you want to learn more about this topic in our blog, you can do this by reading our articles.

As I told you, in order to find out what an escape room is, you have to try it. But suffice it to say, the room you have to escape from has its own special set design made with carefully designed and finished props. Plus, all of this is supported by a plot that follows its own narrative line and structure.

This will be introduced to you, along with the rules of the game, at the entrance to the room by the Gamemaster. The Gamemaster will be watching you from his position to verify that the game is running smoothly, thanks to the cameras placed inside the room, and to help you whenever you want a clue to continue.

In the room, you can play with 2 players on average and up to 6 or 8. Let’s say that the more players there are, the more difficult the communication will be within the group.

Escape Room: What Is It?

It should be made clear whether we are talking about the video game escape room or the real escape rooms.

In the first case, the birth dates back to 1988 with the text adventure “Behind Closed Doors“. However. we should point out that the term “escape room” was coined only in 2001. In fact, in that year, video game escape rooms that used the point-and-click type were given the name escape room.

Today, we can say that all those “click and point” video games where one has to solve puzzles of various kinds are known as escape rooms without any discrimination on the setting or their ultimate goal.

On the other hand, totally different are the MysterU rooms, which are true innovative experiences with the aim of being able to solve a case through puzzle solving, finding evidence in the open web, and above all the ability to think outside the box. If you want to test yourself right away, you can then purchase one of our games, by clicking here, and have fun alone or in company!

As for the physical game, its emergence dates back to 2008, in Japan, which is an adaptation of the video game Crimson Room by Toshimitsu Takagi. The game became a reality and especially tangible which is the beauty of this kind of experience.

Thus, the first escape room was created in Japan by Takao Kato, the REG (Real Escape Game). Afterward, this became a mass phenomenon in 2011 in Singapore and then worldwide in Asia and the United States.

In addition to this version, there is the Hungarian Theory that reports that in 2011, Attila Gyurkovics created an international escape room franchise by the name Parapark. Mr. Attila has always maintained that he was unaware of oriental escape rooms and that he would, therefore, be the first to invent them.

Finally, the American Theory suggests that the birth of escape rooms was due to a group of programmers in Seattle. Of course, needless to say, there is no paper trail on all this that can prove it!
